After working in the qualified retirement plan industry for many years, Dean and Chris noticed that the majority of retirement plan sponsors were being underserved by both their retirement plan providers and their plan advisors, especially small business retirement plan sponsors (i.e. companies with a retirement plan of less than $5 million in assets and less than 100 employees).

These small business plan sponsors usually needed the most assistance however the retirement plan providers and plan advisors usually tailored their service model to the needs of their larger plan clients. So in August of 2017 Dean founded One Retirement Source to assist all plan sponsors, especially small business retirement plan sponsors, with their retirement plan fiduciary duties. In April of 2019, Chris partnered with Dean after a long career working with various retirement plan providers in many different capacities. 

Dean's Qualifications: Dean started his career as a Registered Representative with KC Capital Management, a small boutique firm assisting in plan sponsor services from Request For Proposal (RFP) due diligence, creating model portfolios, conducting plan reviews and providing employee education.

Dean then became the manager of the Retire Secure program in New England for Principal Financial Group from 2008 - 2017. It was Dean's responsibility to educate employees on the benefits that their company provided, from the company sponsored retirement plan to the company sponsored group life & disability insurance programs. He also guided plan sponsors on the appropriate methods to help educate their employees thru marketing, technology and customized Education Plans.

Dean has worked with employers in various industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, technology and non-profits just to name a few. Dean is a well-known and respected speaker, having conducted hundreds of group education meetings to audiences ranging from a handful of people in small conference rooms to hundreds of people in auditoriums.

He has educated well over 10,000 plan participants in 1-on-1 meetings with people from all walks of life, from factory workers to desk employees. He has even conducted 1-on-1 retirement planning meetings with many CEO's. He has helped hundreds of individual investors review their retirement planning picture, consolidate their retirement accounts, establish IRA's and Roth IRA's, purchase life insurance and review their investment strategies.

Chris' Qualifications: Chris began his career as a participant education representative for Putnam conducting hundreds of group and 1-on-1 education meetings helping plan participants with their company sponsored retirement plan. He then moved onto Principal Financial Group as a Retirement Plan Relationship Manager providing guidance on plan investments, plan reviews, plan statistics (i.e. participation rates, average deferral rates, participant Retirement Readiness) and participant education programs. During that time his retention rate was one of the highest amongst his peers due to his dedication and devotion to his client's needs.

Chris then transitioned to Retirement Plan Sales for Principal before moving over to Transamerica in a similar role. During his time at both Principal and Transamerica, as a sales rep, he worked with hundreds of plan sponsors and was one of the top sales reps among his peers. During his time as a retirement plan sales rep, Chris had no choice but to develop an intimate knowledge of the RFP process and the transition process that occurs when moving a retirement plan from one retirement plan provider to another. 

During his entire career Chris has focused on helping plan advisors and plan sponsors design the better possible retirement plan for their participants. By working in all three retirement plan provider departments (education, plan management and plan sales), Chris has a rare set of skills that are hard to find in the industry today, especially on the independent plan advisor side.
